FORTIS House is a project developed by the Bushfire Building Council of Australia. The project is sponsored by NRMA and supported by Shoalhaven City Council.

If you upload images to the website via our design preferences questionnaire, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. The project team will review the images without assuming copyright or sharing the images with external parties. Images uploaded by users will be deleted at the end of the project or within one year.

If you leave a comment or register on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again. These cookies will last for one year.
Who we share your data with
Personal data collected on our website will be kept confidential and is intended for use by the FORTIS project team only, led by BBCA. It will not be shared with, or stored by, any third parties, including Shoalhaven City Council and NRMA Insurance.
The BBCA project team only uses personal data to communicate with participants and assess properties, and provide tailored information and considerations for homeowners. Personal data will not be stored beyond the completion of the project.
De-identified aggregated data contributed via the FORTIS questionnaire and community design workshops will be used by the FORTIS project collaborators to understand and improve community risk awareness, resilience and preparedness. No personal data will be shared with, or stored by, Shoalhaven City Council or NRMA Insurance.

How long we retain your data
For users that register for a workshop via our website, we store the personal information they provide for the duration of the project. Website administrators can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time and will do so immediately upon individual request.
Personal information will not be stored beyond the completion of the project and communications will cease. De-identified aggregated data may be used on an ongoing basis in reporting and analysis by FORTIS project collaborators only.
What rights you have over your data
You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
